Lifestyle Destination Harvey Norman partners with Surfing Australia to support grassroots surfing

australian surfing: August 2, 2022 – Surfing Australia is pleased to announce a new partnership with Harvey Norman for the 2022/2023 season as the Official Lifestyle Partner of Surfing Australia. The partnership will see Harvey Norman complement her support of surfing to encompass the true heart of the sport – Boardrider clubs in Australia – as well as celebrate the pioneering women of surfing and provide a pathway for future female stars.

Harvey Norman will initiate the partnership as a supporting partner of Australia’s largest and most prestigious grassroots surfing event, The Hyundai Australian Boardriders Battle. The event kicks off on the Gold Coast on September 3, 2022 and then travels across the country throughout the year, culminating in the Grand Final in February 2023 where we crown Australia’s best Boardrider Club. Harvey Norman will own the “Team Harvey Junior” division, as well as create on-site consumer activations throughout the series.

They will also promote female surfers through a new Mentoring Camp developed with seven-time world champion and President of Surfing Australia, Layne Beachley. The camp will bring together some of Australia’s most promising female rising stars to experience mentorship, coaching and media training from some of Australia’s top experts. Harvey Norman will cement her support of women’s surfing through sponsorship of the prestigious “Female Surfer of the Year Award” at the 2023 Australian Surfing Awards incorporating the Hall of Fame.
