COLLEGE PARK, MD- The University of Maryland women’s soccer team will continue its non-conference season this week as it travels to the Marina on Thursday night for an 8 p.m. kickoff and to the University of Pennsylvania on Sunday night at 6 p.m. . Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
THIS WEEK’S STORIES
Maryland has a 10-2-2 all-time record against Navy. The Terps and Midshipmen most recently met in the 2021 season in which Navy won 3-1 at College Park.
Sunday will mark the third meeting between Maryland and Pennsylvania. The Terps have a 1-0-1 record against the Quakers. The two teams most recently met in the 2021 season and battled to a 1-1 draw in Philadelphia.

Maryland began the 2022 season with just one game during the opening week of the 2022 women’s college soccer season
The Terps tied Temple 1-1 in Philadelphia on Thursday night. The Owls scored first in the 64th minute, but Maryland responded instantly with a goal just two minutes later when amanda schaffer connected with Alina Stahl to find the back of the net.
This goal marks Stahl’s first goal in a Maryland uniform in his first game with the Terps. The assist is Schafer’s first of his career and also marks his first point with Maryland.

Coach Meghan Ryan Nemzer continues her first season at the helm of the Maryland women’s soccer program. Coach Nemzer comes to Maryland after spending the previous 14 seasons on the Rutgers coaching staff.
katie elly Y alex ng he will also join the Maryland staff this season. Ely has spent the previous seven seasons on the women’s soccer staff at the University of
Georgia, while Ng comes to Maryland after spending the past two seasons on the University of Richmond women’s soccer staff.
Coach Nemzer has also added Kenie Wright to the staff along with Justin Stoner. Wright will serve as Director of Player Development, the first in program history, while Stoner will serve as director of operations.
Finally, joe nemzer completes the staff as a volunteer assistant trainer of the program. Joe brings over a decade of soccer experience with experience at both the professional and collegiate ranks.
Coach Nemzer and her staff welcome 19 new Terps to College Park this season, including 9 freshmen and 10 transfers.
The Terps will play a full 17-game schedule, consisting of 7 non-conference games and 10 conference games.
Maryland will have a six-game homestand when non-conference play ends and Big Ten play begins.
The Big Ten game will begin on Friday, September 16 when Maryland hosts Michigan.
