Nothing good in life comes easy, and that includes marriage.
Imgur, a site where you can share photos, has become a place on the Internet where one can go to show love. A newly married Imgur user took to the social platform to explain her current situation. The woman, whose username is @mollywho, has been battling clinical depression as she tries to balance her responsibilities.

“Been doing a LOT of juggling lately,” she wrote on Imgur. “Try to do well at work. Just Married. He couldn’t afford a wedding. The family is scarce. Fighting with friends, yaddadyadda.”
With all that stress, he said he’s been dating her frustrations on her husband. That was an additional burden that she felt she had to carry: that she was not treating her husband as well as she wanted.
“I haven’t been the easiest person to deal with. In fact, at times I have given up all hope and even taken out my anger on my husband,” she wrote.
How a husband reminded his wife of his love for her
The Imgur user had to travel to San Francisco on a business trip, which she says didn’t help matters. She went on to write that when she returned from her work trip she was exhausted and sad and that she even collapsed on her bed and cried upon arriving at her house.
That was just before she realized she was writing on the mirror in her bedroom. Upon further inspection, she realized it was a list, written in her husband’s handwriting.
“Reasons why I love my wife:
1. She is my best friend
2. She never gives up on herself or me.
3. It gives me time to work on my crazy projects.
4. She makes me laugh every day.
5. She is beautiful
6. She accepts how crazy I am
7. She is the kindest person I know.
8. She has a beautiful singing voice.
9. Has been to a strip club with me
10. She has experienced severe tragedy, but is the most optimistic person about humanity I know.
11. He has fully supported me in my career options and has always followed me
12. Without realizing it, she makes me want to do more for her than I’ve ever wanted to do for anyone.
13. He has done an amazing job advancing his career
14. Small animals make her cry
15. She snorts when she laughs”
That list completely changed the way he felt; she didn’t know what she needed, but her husband did. “I think he wanted me to remember how much he loves me,” she wrote. “Because she knows how quickly I forget.”
How an Imgur user is spreading the importance of asking for help
The list even included things that she had trouble recognizing in herself. “He knows that I struggle to see the good in the world, and especially the good in myself. But here he is. A testament and gesture of love from him. Damn he needed it today,” she wrote.
Although she knows that this kind gesture has not cured her mental illness, it has reminded her that she is loved and supported.

“I am not saying that mental illnesses are cured with pretty words in a mirror. In fact, it takes professional care, love, empathy, and sometimes even medication to cope,” she wrote. “Many people struggle with mental illness, more than we probably realize. And instead of showing them hate or anger when they misbehave. Show them kindness and remind them that things can and WILL get better. Everybody needs a little help sometimes. If that person can’t be you, see if you have any resources for therapy.”
This Imgur user was fighting her own demons and needed to be reminded that there are people who want to help. Fortunately, one of those people was her husband, who had the clever idea of not only telling her how much he loved her, but showing it to her. His kindness reminded his wife that things will get better and needing a shoulder to cry on is nothing to be ashamed of.
