Victoria Beckham Lives Up Paris Fashion Week – Lifestyle

After winning over critics in New York and London, Victoria Beckham steps up to the top of the luxury world with her debut at Paris Fashion Week, which opens on Monday.

“It is the arrival of a very nice label. We are glad that Victoria Beckham is among us,” Pascal Morand, president of the French Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion (FHCM), told AFP.

The 48-year-old Briton joins 104 brands on the official program of the spring-summer ready-to-wear shows in Paris, the most commercially important week in the fashion calendar.

A handful of brands are sticking with online presentations that became the norm during the Covid-19 pandemic.

But most of the big names are fully back in the swing of live shows, including Dior, Chanel, Saint Laurent, Stella McCartney and Issey Miyake, as well as emerging brands like Weinsanto, which kick off on Monday.

Beckham held his first fashion show in New York in 2008 and has appeared primarily there over the years, apart from a brief dalliance with London.

“Don’t underestimate her,” Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour said when Beckham was starting out, and indeed, the former Spice Girl has proven that she’s more than just a buff celebrity.

But despite having 250 global outlets for his clothing, 30 million Instagram followers and one of the world’s most famous husbands, Beckham’s company has always struggled to turn a profit.
