CORAL GABLES, Florida. — The Arizona Wildcats (39-24) staged a miraculous comeback against one of the best closers in college baseball to beat the Miami Hurricanes (40-20) on Sunday night and advance to the Coral Gables regional final.

Arizona will now face Ole Miss on Monday at 10:00 am MST, looking to force a decider if needed later in the day to advance to the Super Regional round of play.

After a solo home run by tony bullard in the eighth inning, the Wildcats found themselves trailing the Hurricanes by one run before entering the final frame with their season on the line.

After a couple of strikeouts to open the ninth, Nick McClaughry worked an infield single to shortstop and advanced to second to designated hitter daniel susak, who was quickly hit by a pitch. The next batter Tanner O’Trembahe worked a 1-1 count before hitting a two-out double off the wall in right-center field, scoring two runs to give Arizona a 4-3 lead, its first lead of the night.
